The Table Tennis Championship organized in honour of the Chairman of the Kogi State Table Tennis Association, Dr. Shaibu D. Mohammed, took place on Thursday, 18th June 2026 at the Albarka Table Tennis Hall, Phase Two Sports Centre, Lokoja, with cadet and senior players competing for attractive cash prizes.
The event was marked by a festive atmosphere as players, coaches, and veterans gathered to celebrate a man whose commitment to the growth and development of table tennis in Kogi State has continued to impact the sport positively. Participants thrilled spectators with impressive displays of skill, technique, and sportsmanship in honour of Dr. Mohammed, who has consistently dedicated his time and resources to nurturing young talents and advancing the game in the Confluence State.
The organizing committee, led by Barrister Friday M. Danny, ensured the competition was conducted smoothly and successfully.Although Dr. Shaibu D. Mohammed was out of the country, he closely monitored proceedings through the Kogi State Table Tennis Association’s official WhatsApp platform where up to date happenings at the Albarka tennis hall was constantlyposted.
He expressed delight at the show of love from the table tennis family and extended his appreciation to board members, coaches, players, and stakeholders. He also reaffirmed his commitment to the continued development, transformation, and promotion of table tennis in Kogi State.
