CONFLUENCE QUEENS FC BEAT DELTA QUEENS 2-1 IN IYAMHO TO RECORD FIRST HOME WIN OF THE SEASON

Confluence Queens Fc recorded their first win of the season following a 2-1 win over hard-fighting Delta Queens football club in matchday 13 of the NWFL Premiership.

The keenly contested tie that went down at the Edo State University Stadium, Iyamho, saw two second-half goals from Ijeoma Ibe and substitute Ebube Marvelous cement a sweet win for the Lọkọjá landladies.After forcing Remo Stars Ladies to a 1-1 draw on the road in the last contest, the team, under the tutelage of Coach Nsikakabasi Okon Armstrong, built on the momentum solidly to cage the visitors from Asaba.

The first half produced no goals from either side, though Confluence Queens FC dominated and had a few chances to take the lead. When action resumed in the final half, it took the home side just 10 minutes to break the deadlock through Ijeoma Ibe, who received a precise pass from Ezeani Vincential and finished with a composed hit.

In the 78th minute, substitute Ebube Marvelous doubled the lead for the hosts with a sumptuous overhead kick that left the goalkeeper helpless. The goal is the second for Marvelous in succession after scoring the equaliser for Confluence Queens FC in the previous match against Remo Stars Ladies.Delta Queens FC, however, pulled one back through substitute Temitope Awede.

The goal turned out to be mere consolation as the center referee blew the final whistle at fulltime. The challenge for Confluence Queens FC will be on the road against Osun Babes FC on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in Ilé-Ogbó, Osun State. 🏟️
