Team Osun delivered an outstanding performance on Day 3 of the ongoing National Para Games in Abuja, highlighted by a remarkable gold medal victory from Muftau Rasaq in the male para powerlifting event. His triumph marks the state’s first gold medal of the competition and underscores a steadily increasing medal haul for the team.

Competing in the 65kg category, Muftau Rasaq demonstrated exceptional strength and composure to clinch the top podium position, sparking celebrations within the Team Osun camp.

Earlier in the day, Team Osun continued to build momentum with a series of commendable performances across various events. In the male para powerlifting 49kg category, Olaifa Olanrewaju showcased his technical prowess by lifting an impressive 92kg to secure a bronze medal for the team.

The team’s medal haul was further boosted by impressive performances recorded the previous day in the para table tennis events. Rashidat Adeyemi claimed her second bronze medal of the Games in the women’s singles open class 9 category, while Adediran Olatunbosun Felix secured a bronze medal in the men’s singles open class 8 category.
