Kogi FA Chairman Hails Igala Nations Cup Organisers

The Chairman of the Kogi State Football Association, Mallam Hassan Wada, has commended the organisers of the Igala Nations Cup for the successful organisation and execution of the annual football competition in Kogi East.

The Kogi FA Chairman praised the organisational skills of the tournament’s organisers while speaking with the Kogi FA Media after watching the final match between Dynamic Stars Football Club of Ankpa and Aminu Flow Football Academy of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area online via the Igala Nations Cup YouTube channel on Saturday.

Mallam Hassan Wada said football is developing rapidly in Kogi East, particularly because of the abundance of talented young footballers in the region.

“Watching the game live on screen, I was absolutely impressed with what I saw. The way and manner the final was played, with discipline and consistency on the part of the players, their fans and supporters, and most especially the conduct of the organisers, was commendable.”»

The widely travelled football administrator also praised the Confederation of African Football (CAF)-licensed manager and proprietor of Goalbridge International Sports Academy, Idah, Abubakar Kamar Olachene, MSc, FIPMA, for what he described as a top-notch organisation of the competition over the years.

According to him, the consistent quality of organisation has contributed significantly to the growing attention, recognition and acceptance enjoyed by the annual tournament.

The final of the 2026 edition of the Igala Nations Cup was played at the Sports Complex of the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, between Dynamic Stars FC of Ankpa and Aminu Flow Football Academy of Igalamela/Odolu.

At the end of an entertaining and tense encounter, Aminu Flow FA emerged champions after edging their Ankpa counterparts in a dramatic penalty shootout to clinch the coveted trophy.
