Digital Transformation Key To Better Service Delivery – Kogi Head Of Service.

By James Sani

Kogi State Head of Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa, says digital transformation is the panacea for effective and efficient civil service delivery in the state..Hajiya Musa stated this on Monday in Lokoja at the 2026 Kogi State Civil Service Week, with the theme: “Digital Transformation, A Panacea For Better Civil Service Delivery.”

She described the week as an opportunity to celebrate the workforce, reflect on the journey of the civil service, recognise contributions of officers, and examine the kind of civil service needed for the future.

The Head of Service expressed profound gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his continued support for the civil service, noting that his commitment to welfare, career progression and provision of resources for reforms has repositioned the service for contemporary governance.

Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa said the theme for this year’s celebration was apt, stressing that technology has changed the way people live and work, and the civil service can not afford to be left behind.

She explained that digital transformation simply means using technology to make work easier, faster, better organised, and more responsive to citizens.

Hajiya Musa disclosed that with the support of Governor Ododo, the service has begun deliberate steps towards building a digitally capable civil service, through initiatives such as Smart Kogi App, KogiConnect, KogiVault, Head of Service Website and Career Portal, as well as the Digital Notice Board being launched during the week.

She, however, cautioned officers on the need to protect government information, urging them to handle official data carefully, secure devices and accounts, and use digital platforms responsibly as more work becomes digital.

The Head of Service commended diligent civil servants across the state who work daily without public recognition, assured that her office will continue to promote capacity building and welfare, and called on all officers to embrace learning, adaptation and collaboration, noting that the future of the civil service will be built not by technology alone, but by willing and dedicated personnel.
