Kogi State Football Association Mourns The Passing Away Of Former NFA President, Ibrahim Galadima

Kogi State Football Association has joined millions of mourners all over the country to express deep sorrow and sadness over the death of an astute Football Administrator and former president of the Nigeria Football Association, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima who transited this world to the great beyond on Saturday, 18th April 2026 at an advanced age of 78.

Chairman of Kogi State Football Association Mallam Hassan Wada in a condolence message through the Association’s Director of Media, Godwin Wambebe described Alhaji Galadima’s death as a huge loss not just to his immediate and extended family but to Nigeria Football fraternity and the nation’s Sports family at large.

Wada extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the former Football supremo, the Nigeria Football Federation, Kano State government and the entire Nigeria Football community asking God almighty to strengthen and console those affected by the loss.

Mallam Hassan Wada showered ecomiums on the deceased for his huge and immense contributions to football development in Nigeria during his leadership between 2002 and 2006. He said the Soccer administrator played many significant roles in the growth and projection of the round leather game back home here in Nigeria, in Africa and at the global stage.

” The Kano-born astute administrator contributed exceedingly and immensely, his quota to the development of Football in Nigeria when he held sway at the helms of Nigeria Football Federation and in other key positions he held “

” He leaves behind a legacy of selfless service to humanity and the Nigeria nation through Football and sports in general and valuable lessons for the future generations to learn from as we strive heard for the speedy growth and improvement of Nigeria Football “

Mallam Hassan Wada prayed God almighty to grant him the best of place in Aljana firdaus, forgive his shortcomings and grant his immediate and extended family, the Kano state government and the Nigeria Football family the fortitude to bear his demise.

Born on February 15th 1948 in Kano, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima was a respected Football Administrator and figure who tirelessly helped to shape the Nigeria football structures at different levels with various people oriented policies and programmes especially grassroot football development. Despite his age and ill health, his contributions has remained valuable and will be greatly missed.
