The Chairman of the Allied People Movement (APM), Kogi State, extends his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, associates, and the good people of Kogi State over the passing of His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, popularly known as “Ibro.”
Alhaji Ibrahim Idris was a prominent figure in the political history of Kogi State and served as Governor from 2003 to 2012, including his return to office following the 2008 re-run election.
His death in the United Kingdom at the age of 77 on Sunday, September 20, 2026, was confirmed to AIT by a family member, Shehu Ahmed.
At this moment of grief, the Allied People Movement (APM), Kogi State, stands in solidarity with his immediate and extended family, friends, political associates, and all those mourning this great loss.
The passing of a former governor and prominent Kogi political figure is a significant moment for the state. We pray that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives his family the strength, courage, and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
May Almighty Allah grant the family comfort and preserve the good memories of his life and service to Kogi State.
May his soul rest in perfect peace. Ameen.
