All is now set for the first edition of the 4×4 handball championship for States in North-central Nigeria holding in Markudi,the Benue State capital also known as the food basket of the nation.
The 4×4 handball is a new innovation recently introduced and North-central Nigeria is getting the go ahead to kick start the process of popularizing the game in Nigeria.
Letters of invitation from the Handball Federation of Nigeria has been sent out to Directors of Sports of North-central States urging them to prepare their teams ahead of the championship which which will take place from 16th to 19th June 2026 in Markudi.
The invitation letter which was signed by the secretary General of the federation urged State Directors of Sport to ensure they attend as the championship will serve as qualification to the finals slated for Adamawa state later in the year.
